Despite having relatively limited production totals, the Airbus Military C-295 tactical military transport is gaining popularity in military circles due to its inherent versatility.
In 1988, a collaborative effort between Spain and Indonesia resulted in the introduction of the high-winged CN-235, a propeller-driven aircraft designed for tactical transport purposes. Ultimately, a total of 273 units were manufactured under the CASA/IPTN brand label.

There is another version of the aircraft specifically designed for the Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) role, commonly known as “AWACS,” equipped with Israeli AESA radar. This variant is currently in the prototype stage and was unveiled at the Royal International Air Tattoo in 2011, showcasing a radome mounted over the aft fuselage. The C-295W variant features winglets at the wingtips and an enhanced engine installation. The development of this variant is still in its final stages.
