Hello New Life! Seraa Celebrates Motherhood With the Birth of Baby Solar.

In a heartwarming development, 16-year-old ex-orphan Seraa has embraced motherhood with the birth of her wild-born calf, a charming baby boy named Solar. The joyous occasion unfolded on February 9, 2018, when Seraa proudly returned to the Voi Stockades, accompanied by Nanny Wasessa, who attentively cared for the adorable newborn.

Solar marks the 29th baby born to elephants rescued and nurtured by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a testament to the organization’s commitment to the well-being and conservation of these magnificent creatures. Seraa’s journey from rescue to motherhood exemplifies the success of the Trust’s efforts in providing a second chance for elephants to thrive in the wild and start families of their own.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust expresses heartfelt gratitude to its supporters whose ongoing generosity and kindness make these life-saving and joyous moments possible. The organization invites everyone to share in the celebration of Seraa’s newfound motherhood and the addition of baby Solar to the elephant family.
