Marking 16 years of resilience: Our crocodile friend Ьгeаkѕ free from the tire!

A crocodile finally freed from a motorcycle tire after six years!

After weeks of unsuccessful previous attempts, Tili, a 35-year-old Indonesian birdwatcher, managed to free the 14.8-foot saltwater crocodile from the tire.

The female crocodile in Palu drew global attention, even catching the eye of Matthew Wright, the “Outback Wrangler.”

Tili, who had just moved to Palu, was informed about the famous tire-clad crocodile by his neighbors in early January. He said he was committed to saving it.

Tili set up a trap along a river with ropes and used chickens, ducks, and other birds as bait. Three weeks later, the crocodile entered the trap, and Tili and two friends cut off the tire.

The crocodile was finally freed after six years since it was first discovered with a tire around its neck. The animal received assistance to be returned to the wild from firefighters and a wildlife conservation organization.

It remains unresolved how the crocodile became trapped in the tire. According to conservationists, it could have been intentionally placed on the animal in a failed attempt to capture it as a pet or for its skin. Another possibility is that the crocodile got caught in the tire while swimming in trash-filled waters.
