Russia’s modern nuclear submarine fires a salvo of 4 ICBMs for the first time.

The video captures the moment Russian Defense Ministry released on December 12, showing the crew members on board the K-551 Vladimir Monomakh submarine operating combat units before launching a salvo of RSM-56 Bulava missiles, hitting a target 5,000 km away.

All four missiles were fired in the Sea of Okhotsk, in Russia’s Far East, hitting a hypothetical target at a range in Arkhangelsk Oblast, just a few hundred kilometers from Finland. Each Bulava missile can carry 6-10 warheads, each of which contains a nuclear explosive equivalent to 100-150 kilotons.

The Vladimir Monomakh submarine, which is one of the newest four Borei-class submarines, is 170m long and can carry 16 Bulava missiles, along with various types of torpedoes, Onyx and Kalibr cruise missiles. The fifth submarine named Knyaz Oleg is expected to begin testing and may join the Russian Navy in 1-2 years. In addition, Russia has three Borei-class submarines currently under construction.
