Two years ago, Mr. Rudy Bunggal in the Philippines stumbled upon an abandoned little dog in a rice field. He took the dog home to care for and named her Kabang.
One day, while witnessing two little girls, one being Mr. Rudy’s daughter and the other his niece, about to be hit by a motorcycle, Kabang bravely jumped in front of the vehicle to stop it. The accident took away her snout and upper jaw.
At that time, a crowdfunding campaign was launched online to support Kabang. People from all over the world sent donations to help Kabang, along with words of admiration and concern for her brave and health. With the support of this campaign fund, last October, Kabang was brought from the Philippines to the veterinary teaching hospital at the University of California Davis (USA) for treatment.
However, besides the facial injury, the doctors also discovered that Kabang had cancer and needed immediate chemotherapy. Currently, Kabang is undergoing treatment in the US. A hospital representative said that through the treatment process, Kabang’s health has shown positive signs of improvement. “There is no evidence of any remaining tumors. As far as we know, the tumors have been resolved,” the representative said.
Currently, Kabang is still undergoing treatment to remove the worms from her arteries before proceeding to treat the facial injury.
